What is the best way to prepare a breeze block wall before painting?

Render it first would be better.

Dulux exterior weathershield would be the best. You might thin the first coat as a primer, but it is a porous surface so don't overdo it. Then added a couple of unthinned coats.

Do not put a coat of PVA or waterseal on. If the blocks were old and friable (powdery) you would put a stabilising solution on, but otherwise nothing because you want your emulsion to soak in and sealing it with anything compromises that. What is the best way to prepare a breeze block wall before painting?
is it clean if not clean it ,get rid of algea etc. seal it with something like thompsons water seal. give it a coulple of days and then paint away preferably 2 coats 1st coat thinner than top coatWhat is the best way to prepare a breeze block wall before painting?
breeze blocks do not paint very well ..you will need a long haired roller ..enough paint for 3 coats ..and a bucket full of patients ..plus a dust sheet for the floor
1. build it

2. Treat with dilluted PVA adhesive to seal it

3. paint it.
Build it.
