I bought a home and I need to know what is better painting the interior or place wall paper?

Your best bet will be paint. Paint is much more versatile. If you decide to change decor, wallpaper is a beast to remove. It's a time-consuming process and in the end there will be repair work to do (patching from peeling wallpaper). It takes quite a bit of work to get the same smooth surface again.

Painting can be as beautiful as wallpaper. For texture, look into faux finishes. Paint will give you more of an option for change.I bought a home and I need to know what is better painting the interior or place wall paper?
painting is better, if you get sick of the paint color, just paint over it..wallpaper takes forever to get off the walls...Good Luck!I bought a home and I need to know what is better painting the interior or place wall paper?
paint.

wall paper peels over time and needs to be replaced. It is so hard to redo. Paint can be changed easily.
I am a painter by trade and find that most people prefer the painted look over the wallpaper as it looks more modern and easier to change at alater date if need be. Colour choice also plays a big part in the overall look aswel obviesly.
I think painting is better. It's easier to do and easier to change. You could always add a wall paper border for interest and design. Good luck and have fun!
Painting, hands down. Wallpaper is out of style these days. Plus it is such a pain if you ever want to change. It ruins your walls. Painting is the right thing to do.
sponge paint with a sea sponge. you can do this much cheaper than walpaper and it looks better. You must be patient and go over it many times to give it and even blend. You can make more paint colors by mixing sheades of two cans (we bought 3 shades of green, and white for the top half of the room. I mixed greens to get more shades so I had about 5 colors.)
Paint, it's easier to change when you tire of the color.
painting takes more time but it looks SOOOO much better. So i saw painting the interior.
Painting is easier. Wall paper, unless you've done it before is hard matching the panels, especially in the corners. Plus if wall paper gets gouged, you will have to have a piece to match it up for the repair. Wall paper is great, but becomes dated quickly, and a nightmare to get off. If you want the best of both, you can paint and put up a wall paper border on the top of the wall. They sell types that you can peel off effortlessly afterwards if you have a change of heart.
Paint...it looks good and attractive....
Painting by far is the way to go! Wallpaper is not only hard to apply (and remove!), but it's getting harder to find due to everyone doing faux finishes. There are TONS of different faux finishes you can do that are easy, beautiful and cost effective (and that aren't just a sponging technique or rag finish!). I am an interior decorator that specializes in faux finishes and trust me....the results are well worth the effort! And much easier to correct than wallpaper!
It is entirely your preference. But two things might be of interest. If the walls are not straight, or badly pitted or need repair etc. Then wallpaper is a good consideration.Design wise that's up to you.I like plain walls myself, and I prefer painted walls.Painting is easier, and you can always change it later.Log onto Martha Stewart.com and check out their ideas. Good Luck!
In my opinion painting is much better because it looks better and if the wallpaper gets dirty you have to peel it of, but if it's paint you just wash it.
