Thinking about painting my wall?

all my fruniture is black and dark brown neutral colors i was thinking about painting my wall a dark purple called blackberry but my mom says it will be too dark in my room

what do you think light or dark color for my wall?Thinking about painting my wall?
I would go with something lighter to warm up the black and help tie in the black and brown. Maybe a nice medium shade of khaki to keep it looking modern. Without actually seeing the room and just by the info provided, I would say your Mom is right. But that doesn't mean you couldn't bring some purple into the space. Once you've painted the wall a medium neutral, artwork would really pop on it! So add something modern with some purples, reds, blues in a chrome or black lacquer frame. That will still give you the feel you are going for, without over-powering the entire space.Thinking about painting my wall?
I love dark colors, so I would let you do the blackberry. However, as long as you're living in your mom's house, you have to play by her rules.

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family %26amp; color name, the ';painted'; rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

Maybe go with a shade of red-violet that's not so dark like ';emerging taupe'; (# 6045).

You can also take a photo of your room %26amp; upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions %26amp; they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
I think your mom is right especially with the dark furniture. If you like purple, choose a lighter shade for three of the walls and paint just one the blackberry shade.
Black cherry
light blue!

maybe you could use the dark purple to do an accent wall?
