When painting an indoor wall mural, what kind of paint is best to use?

A decent quality acrylic is good. Don't try with the .50 cent paints from walmart. There's a good chance they'll wash off.

The Plaid folk art is good to use %26amp; still cheap.

Before you paint make sure your wall is prepped. Wash it well with a cleanser like PineSol %26amp; rinse it at least twice with plain water. Let it dry for at least 2-4 hours, better yet wash it the night before. Then your ready to paint.

Now, you might want to consider painting on a piece of smooth plywood instead. It would need a few coats of gesso before you you paint.

If you paint your mural on a panel then you would be able to take it with you if you move. Also if you live in an apartment the landlord won't have a fit (unless you have their permission ; ) because you painted on the walls.

After your done painting don't wash it for at least a month if you can wait longer than that do so, unless you have to wipe little handprints off. And wipe using water %26amp; dish soap.

If you wipe it hard the paint might lift.

After a couple of weeks you could apply a water based sealer to the whole wall if you want. It'll be $ but it'll toughen it up %26amp; make the colors pop. When painting an indoor wall mural, what kind of paint is best to use?
Well it all depends on the type of wall, if it's a glossy finished wall its best to us a permanent paint then use a pint sealer after but if it's dry wall you should go with a more oily paint if it's its a paint covered wall you should use a non-oil acrylic paint

good luck and hope my advice helped,

I would use acrylics. They're permanent and fast drying. However you might want to be careful if you need to repaint it at a later date.
Lay down a background colour using matt emulsion, then paint the details using acrylic paint.
latex or acrylic
