Because a primer will seal in everything-grease, odor, etc. Then your finish coat will be more durable and last longer.When painting a wall, why is it best to use primer instead of just white paint?
primers can have a bonding component and a sealing component, depending on which primer you use.
note* not all primers have a stain blocking component.
