Painting staircase wall that has a vaulted ceiling?

How would you suggest cutting out the ceiling and painting the high wall of a vaulted ceiling staircase. In a room it wouldn't be a problem, but on a staircase it's a bit more complicated -- won't be able to get a ladder to stand right I wouldn't think. And the wall could be painted using an extension, but it's cutting out the ceiling that has me stumped. Any suggestions would be appreciated!Painting staircase wall that has a vaulted ceiling?
Sarojabu;

Your going to need to set up some staging (Scaffolding) to run from the top of the stairs to a ladder or other support member and plank this. Now, for safety considerations I suggest that you use an airless sprayer with an extension pole on the gun that reaches up to this wall ceiling angle(s). You can effectively cut in this way if for example if you're painting this vault and walls all the same color and sheen. If there is color or sheen differences you'll need to rig up a pray shield to a rollers extension pole and have a helper set and move it as you spray. These spray extension poles come as long as 12' and is what I use to due this task you've described.

There is an attachment for the above described extension pole that holds a brush and is angle adjustable, but this is really for touch ups and spot work and would be really labor intensive, much more, awkward, to implement for this.
