I am painting two different colors on the same wall. The paint leaks under the tape onto the other color -help

common problem. seal the tape with a coat of clear primer or polyurothene. That should help prevent much of the seeping.I am painting two different colors on the same wall. The paint leaks under the tape onto the other color -help
wrong tape! and too much paint. try less paint and better tape.I am painting two different colors on the same wall. The paint leaks under the tape onto the other color -help
Hope ur using blue painters tape, if so, perhaps ur loading ur brush or roller too heavily with paint or u didn`t press the tape firmly to the wall before u started painting. The blue tape is an excellent product, u shouldn`t have leakage unless ur doing one of the two mentioned above.
add more tape just below where the leak is and paint over the line again to have an even line. it's a bit lower but still saveable.
I actually had this exact problem on an art project. I'm not experienced in this, but I would suggest using a roller, and painting from the tape up (or down). Possibly using less paint and doing several coats may work well, too, so the paint doesn't drip too much.
You can use a chalk line and strike a chalk line. Then use a straight edge to paint up to line. Make sure to clean paint off straightedge in between uses!

If you have a steady hand just cut in paint up to chalk line. That is what I do.
Paint over the edge of seam of painter's tape with first color. Then paint seond color. This should prevent second color from leaking onto first.
