A bit of plaster came of my newly skimmed wall when painting, what is the best way to fill?

Should I phone the plasterer that did it? It is a fairly small piece.A bit of plaster came of my newly skimmed wall when painting, what is the best way to fill?
I would imagine that if it's one tiny bit, then it's highly likely that the plasterer PVA'd the wall first. Maybe unlucky that it could have been something under the PVA.

DO NOT use a ready mix filler, it will set harder than the plaster and when you sand it down, your new plaster will rub away before the filler. Use an interior powder filler and not an outdoor or all purpose one. Leave if slightly proud and sand it down with 120 grit paper.A bit of plaster came of my newly skimmed wall when painting, what is the best way to fill?
doesn't matter how small it is, it should not come off. check to see if the plaster around the small bit will pick off easily if it does then chances are they did not seal the wall properly before plastering it.if this is the case then the whole wall will pick off like that because it will not of adhered to the surface it was applied to without being properly sealed.hopefully they just missed a bit when they were sealing the wall.hope this helps
If you paid him to do it, get him back to do it properly.

If you have to do it yourself, use a fine surface vinyl filler. You can buy a small quantity ready mixed in a tube. Squirt it on. Level it off (use a filler knife if you've got one, but a bit of cardboard is just as good), Let it dry completely, sand it smooth and paint over it.
Do not use PVA directly under paint. It is not a primer. You can use PVA in the hole under the filler.

Paint with three coats of emulsion. The first one thinned to the consistancy of milk and preferably brushed on. This soaks in and is the primer. The next two coats are normal and applied with a 9 inch roller.

If its small, Polyfiller and a decent plastic tool...

Did you use a pva primer first before painting? If you didnt then the paint will more than likely pull off some off the plasters top layer.
If it is very small, you could use a credit card to spread some Polyfilla. This is what I do for small patches.
Yes as if you have paid to have your wall plastered, then I am sure he won't mind!
